Bugs in my windows

In my 2000 sq ft garage I installed 4 windows to allow light in, but not allow people to break or see in. These windows are set 8 feet high from the floor and face east. I love the light it provides however I hate the mess as you can see. I didn't do this anticipating to have to do window cleaning. This picture shows a years worth of bugs. Does anyone have a similar problem and if so does anybody have a remedy either commercial or home brewed solution to keep this to a minimum. Thanking you in advance. George

Shop vac. Vac them up when they start to bother you. I have a small carry unit I use.

I have two 2x3 windows in the parking area - bugs on the sill are a constant problem. Same - hand vac.

Small price to pay imo to have some windows.
Maybe could put a piece of sheet metal on a 45 degree but then you will have them on your stuff

Attach a length of PVC to shop vac, long enough to comfortably reach the window sill, with a 90 and short extension. Every couple months run it over all your window sills.

vacuum them. I usually pull get the vac our every month or two and wander about the shop looking for things that need vacuum. Unless you seal all the cracks, screen the doors, or keep them closed all the time you will get flies and bugs into things. We were up near Weaverville CA one year and the mosquitoes were bad. We kept seeing them in the motel room. I finally went outside in the dark, and found all the spots small slivers of light showed - under doors, around the AC inlet etc. A wet towel in each location stopped all the bugs. You have to really seal that garage if you want to keep them out. Otherwise get the vacuum.

Treat the interior and exterior perimeter and all window and door openings with a commercial pesticide (bifen IT or similar if accessible to you). You’ll have to keep at it every 6 weeks through the warmer months (on the exterior at least) to keep them at bay. This will thin the herd, but it won’t eliminate your annual window cleaning ritual. It won’t be quite as bad.

If you leave your garage doors open for any length of time flying critters will still make their way in and they will still find their way to the light before they die. Bug zapper could help with those.

Use the Hot Shot product. Spray the windows and frames.

I'll trade you my wasps in the rafters for your bugs. I do not have a ceiling in the shop and the wasps build nests on the under side of the roof deck by the peak. The peak is 18' up, that's a PITA to deal with.
