yes bugs.
My sweetie wants to put flooring in the garage and while I have no problem with that....hell i'd sell a kidney if he asked me....i have this aversion to his first choice "Race deck".

We put race deck in our last house and it looked great....checkered with a red boarder ...i mean it looked awesome.

BUT....and here's the problem... the floor melted here and there from welding and the occasional cigar ash. (so that is problem number 1 with race deck)

Now we've moved to the middle of the stinking desert and we have this BIZZARE over population of earwigs and roly poly bugs. If we put race deck down I have this recurring nightmare of a million earwigs and roly polys (and the occasional black widow) living in the garage under the race deck.

How do we keep the bugs from nesting under race deck and is epoxy a better option out here in the stinking desert where scary insects rule?

sprinkle some diatamasceous earth under the racedexk before you put it down. It will kill all the bigs and is harmless to humans.

Yup. And just about any floor that isn't bare concrete is going to be damaged if you weld over it. He should get a welding mat to protect whatever you end up doing.
