What does everyone do to help eliminate bugs from their shop?

I've got 2400sqf of shop, and I must have swept up 3lbs of dead bugs out of it this weekend.

Of course, it is that time of year for the bugs. They are dead once they enter the shop, because I spray the perimeter, outside and inside.

The other problem is the spiders... we have 4 acres in a country subdivision, and I probably have 1 billion spiders that live on it. You pretty much have to spray them directly, cause just having them walk through a sprayed area, is not all that effective.

Change your screen name to either Bugsy or Spiderman?
All seriousness aside though, I have an area light on the front of my shop put there by the previous owner, and it really draws the bugs during the night. Two fat toads lurk nearby to feed, but I still have to sweep a lot of bugs also.

Yellow lights, LED lights, screens on doors and windows. Perimeter and inside spray. Seal up all cracks and crevices where they can enter. Pruning vegetation away from your shop and keeping the area next to the foundation clear will also make your shop less attractive to spiders. Food- outdoor lighting attracts insects, which in turn attracts spiders. Wear gloves when poking around in stuff. A shop vac will also aid in getting rid of bugs and spiders.

Buy some geckos, let them loose. I have a handful in my garage and love them; no bugs at all!

Geckos would be a good idea... but I have a feeling they would meet the fate of the two dried up frogs I found in one corner. LOL

I always keep my doors and windows closed in my garage so I get very few bugs inside. A few get in when the vehicles go in and out, but those few don't matter.
Spiders seem to get in even with the building closed up, but without the bugs and flies in there to feed them, they aren't that interested in being in the garage too much either.
Probably the easiest way to deal with bugs and flies is to limit their access to the building.
