it's like a time capsule form the 50's that got opened in the 2000's;i love it.the last pics you posted are perfect post card and or Christmas card material.just great.

Thanks for pulling it back to the top Daniel. The warden has had me on garden detail lately so not much time to hang out in the barn and work on the Buicks so haven't been touching base here too often. Re the Kodachromes, Next rainy weekend I'll dig through the picture trunk and see what I can find.

To your mate, may he rest in peace. Everybody wonders what a bird from Australia is doing on a barn in Georgia. Before the Buicks, I had a farm full of them.

Farmer, your place is absolutely unbelievable! You have done such an excellent job. I'm sure it would take me a few hours just standing and staring to soak it all in. What a great place to work and hang out. There are barns in my area if I look for them, but lack your surroundings. Beautiful setup - and the cars - it all goes together. Excellent!

You're right about them legs and feet full of long claws. And they can aim at a crotch pretty dang good. Actually I had them for the money. As breeder stock here in the US, at one time eggs were selling for $500 a piece, 3 month old chicks for $3,000 a pair and adult birds for 20-30,000 a pair.
But yea, the oil was the big thing. As you probably know the Aborigines use it for arthritis, aches and pains, healing cuts without leaving scars, eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis etc etc. Problem was, there got to be too many of them here before the market got fully established, people freaked out, sold out and the Emu's flew south. The meat wasn't tooo bad either, as I and many others can attest to first hand after the market crashed. Thankfully I was early in and early out so didn't loose the entire farm as many others did. I ended up recouping my losses with Boer and Kiko meat goats. Sold them all back in '02 and bought Buicks. So far, I am loosing my a** on them too. Just can't get the effers to reproduce!!!

Thanks for the appreciation of the ol' Buick Barn folks, haven't been checkin in much here lately. Been trying to catch up on the honey dew list so when I retire come next March I can spend my time on the Buicks. A couple of the honey dew items included installing new gutters and a tin roof on the house and finishing Buick Terrace. Also drug some more pieces of ol' rusty junk home from an old mountainside junkyard up in north Georgia. Will try and post up some pictures of all that fun when I have time.

That's a fine barn you've got there, real purty. I've always been a Ford guy, but had an uncle who loved his Buick's. American iron, it's all good. Have a friend who brings back peach shine from Georgia ever year. Pure mothers milk, love the stuff, but a man has to know his limitations. Mike

Forgive me if you've already answered this question, but what did you use to stain the interior/exterior... if anything? I love the board and batten look and intend to incorporate that into my garage somewhere. Your place looks awesome!

Thanks guys, still haven't dug into the old picture box for the construction pictures, it's on my list though.
Tha's a big 10-4 on that peach shine. Just a few sips'll do ya. I see they are making and selling it in liquor stores these days. But it doesn't have the peach in the bottom and probably ain't 190 proof either.
Re the stain on the barn siding and interior. Like the house, it is all cedar and I sealed the exterior with CWF wood sealer in '88 when it was built and nothing since. Nothing on the interior.
And Gunpilot, I have actually removed the "One Way" sign from Buick Lane entrance into Buick Gardens and am letting some of the Buicks leave. I just picked up a sweet lil 3 speed '54 Century and will be selling my hot rod project and and a couple others to finance it. Been looking for this car for 10 years.
