Long story short, my dad wants to trade my 8 gallon Central Pneumatic compressor his 60 gallon Porter Cable.
He never uses it and is looking to downsize (he jealous that I can part 2 cars in my garage and he can't). The wife and I bought our first house a few years ago and this compressor will be nice to add to my shop. I want to put the compressor under a smaller 2nd patio in our back yard and plumb the air up through the attic and drop it into the garage. First off, no, I have no interest in using PVC. The temp of our attics here in Phx sail north of 170° in the summer. Would black iron pipe or galvanized pipe be better for my application? Moisture isn't really a problem here either. During our 6 month summers, humidity is less than 10%. The rest of the year, humidity isn't that much higher for any stretch of time. I'd like to plumb the system the right way the first time. I'm not painting anything now but I do work on cars frequently. My house faces south and the pitch of the roof is north and south too. So I'm thinking about running the pipe out of the compressor, up into the attic and run up and down with the pitch of the roof. I'm hoping that that will be enough to drain what little condensation that does gets into the system. I have searched through a bunch of posts so I have most of the info that I need but I thought I'd still ask for help, especially from those of you who live in the desert like I do. Sorry for the long winded post but I thought I'd give as much info now.
Thanks for the advise in advance.
