Fair enough; I'm Northwest of the city in Middlesex county

i get people that don't want to get too specific with their location on forums, but this is a question that really requires doing more than a county. I'm not trying to be a ****, but Middlesex NW of the city could be anything from Marlboro to Townsend to Dracut to Somerville. I seriously doubt a good builder is going to cover all of that area with how much new construction and renovation work there is around here.

I am in Billerica. Being brand new to the area, I'm still trying to figure out what to best call it without being specific to the town. Although I'm near "north shore" it doesn't seem like I fall within that (I'm not near any shore).

My default, when I don't want to get specific is to just use a bordering or nearby town.
I'm south of you, next to Marlborough.
Unfortunately I don't know of anyone to recommend near you. Could be worth swinging by a local lumber yard and asking for a couple names

I would go talk with your town/city's building department. The Building Official knows who the good contractors are. That's what I did and got a recommendation on a contractor that built me a great shop.
