Building a 28 x 30 deeper or longer?

I'm planning to build a 28 x 30 before the winter hits and was looking for a bit of insight on the depth vs width.

Based on my reading, 30' deep seems to be a good number which leaves you working room in front of a vehicle to pull a motor, or have a work bench etc. I was planning to do 30' deep and 28ft wide (garage door on 28' side), but am now wondering if I should only go 28' deep and 30' wide. Hopefully someone who has a 28x30 can chime in regarding their personal experience?

Some key notes:
-28x30 is the biggest square ft I can go and I'm definitely not making it less than 28 deep
-I have a crew cab long box diesel which is about 22' long and plan to continue to work on those in the future.
-It will just have one bay door which is 9' x 16'

My garage is a 30 x 30, but it's close enough for me to be able to say that I would go 30' deep.

That gives you some extra space so that you do not have to park exactly right in order to have room to get a floor jack underneath the truck, walk to either side of the truck, etc.

Mine is 24' wide by 34' deep. I can pull my extended cab Silverado in, drop the tailgate, walk around the back of it, and still have 5' of room in front of it and a 30" deep bench on the front wall. I wouldn't want mine any shorter. On the other hand, 24' wide is horrible and basically turns it into a massive one car garage, plus a mower and some junk. Mainly because I have tools and cabinets on both side walls too.

I have a 24' deep by 36' wide. Definitely go as deep as you can. I hate the fact that mine is only 24' deep as it makes pulling a truck in and having room to work on it almost impossible.

I'm also 24' deep. 28 would make a huge difference, 30 even better. I can get my F350 in there, but it's 240" long so to work on the truck the back bumper has to be resting against the back wall. Based on the truck you mention, 30'. Remember that "30' deep" means 29' 4" inside, real world.
