Hi Guys, I'm in the beginning stages of building a custom chandelier. The wife and I went out a few weeks ago to see if we could find a chandelier that we both liked. None really hit the mark, and start at $1000 was obviously ridiculous and way out of budget.

We looked at a few and have come up with a style that we like. I am currently on the hunt for a rough saw/hewn log about 5-6 feet long.

The real reason for the thread is to locate the hardware for the chandelier. ie, light sockets, twisted cloth wire, and a canopy.

I have found vintagewireandsupply.com which has pretty much everything that I want (Oil rubbed keyless lamp sockets, cloth wire) but no canopy that has tickled my fancy.

Do you have any supply stores/websites that you frequent and like the quality of their product?

mylamparts.com 1000bulbs.com grandbrass.ocm bplampsupply. Have used them all depending on what I needed ... There are others as well.

Don't discount a local really good lighting store ... being in a city you may have a lampshade store. Some do repair work and also make .... we have one that's near to my vacation place that sells everything.
