Building a small shed/yard closet

Hello,

I am planning to build a small shed/yard closet (address below). I plan to modify the design so it will be a bigger (5'Lx3'W). I also do not want it be free-standing. Instead, I would like to remove the siding from my house, mount it to the structure, reinstall siding and install flashing along the roof to make it look like it belongs. Any ideas about how I can attach it to my house? Could I install a ledger board to set the base on. Do you think this will work (too heavy?)?

If you are going to attach it; build your base first and then lag bolt it to your house's rim joist. Put one or two posts in front. Build your standard framing from there.

So, if I understand correctly, you are saying a ledger board isn't necessary and I should set posts (below frost line) to support the front of it?

No advice here but wow that's what I need to build lol.

What are putting for flooring, cement I guess?

I know it is small, but it will serve a purpose. We can put garden tools in it etc. (get them out of the workshop). I considered cement, but since I wanted to tie it into the house, wood is the plan. If I used cement I would have to dig 2' down for the footer. It will be sandwiched between my house, driveway and chimney. Wasn't sure if it would be a good idea to dig it all out.
