Was just curious to the folks that know--

What is the guestimation on price for a new building and rough in for electrical.
I know that price will vary from region to region, so best guess is what I'm looking for.

Slab foundation, and this building...any guessers?

Basically, you pay for the blueprints and build yourself.

Im gonna guess at least $100k, probably more. if the labor is being subcontracted

That second story is going to add a lot to the cost.

Its all the little stuff that gets ya. Ive got 25k in my 24x36 with electric, no plumbing. Lumbers cheap in the grand scheme of things

A lot of variables though, but its a guess.

Type of interior, number of rooms, total size?

As for the electrical, how many outlets, seperate service, sub panel, how far is the run to the garage, 230v outlets, total circuits, number and type of light required?

This is one of those questions that several guys on here could answer if you give them some info. With what you have stated above, the price could run anywhere from $50 a square foot to over $200 a square foot.

Edit: If you keep it the same size as that plan, I would be surprised if you could build a 3000+ SF garage that is finished outside and roughed in with the electrical and insulation done on the inside for much less than $100,000. Finished with nice material inside and out (like your house) could run in excess of $250,000. The devil is in the details.

I know one local guy with a garage that size that has a brick exterior, was designed by an architect, looks nicer than my house on the inside (and outside), has lifts and everything else you could ever want. The floors are stamped concrete, is heated and cooled, has bathrooms (2), a kitchenette, game room and a paint booth. He spent over $210 a square foot for it when it was complete.

It would be nice to know what region you are in. In California, you're looking at big dollars, In Ohio, much less. Prices can vary by as much as $100,000 give or take.
Then how much are you going to do yourself, and how much are you going to contract out. How much electric do you want? :dunno: Fifty lights and 100 outlets, or two lights and one wall switch? It all makes a difference :D

Location is critical for another reason as well. In my area of NYS, that 30# live load roof would never make it. Minimum code requirements here are 50#/sf live load.

Your choice of building styles/ type of construction will have a great impact on cost. For example in most areas pole barn type construction is cheaper than frame on slab w/ footers. In some areas block & masonry is cheaper than wood frame. YMMV.
