Building in Kansas City

I am about to start a detached garage build in Kansas City and am looking for a contractor to do the work. I have engineered plans ready to go to the permit folks. It will be around 1,100 sq.ft. on a slab, one floor only. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Given the current permit/inspection rules in KC it is very hard to find a contractor willing to mess with a garage build. Still looking for someone to build it, so if anyone knows of a good, honest contractor in this area I'd appreciate the referral.

In KC is difficult from what I've heard. You might try BOSS Sheds www.bosssheds.com out of Trimble, MO. I think I'm going to use him for my shop (not in KC proper though).

When he was at my site he mentioned hating to work in KC. If you've already got the plans and such ready he might be willing to work with you. I like him best of all the builders I've interviewed. Company name seems kinda hokey, but it stands for Built On Site Storage, so not completely cheesy.

Did you find someone to build in KC for you? My sister in law lives in brookside and is looking to have her garage redone.
