alright i am getting ready to get my first ever garage of my own built. I'm going to just go with a 24x24 or possibily 24x28. 2 car garage. Im wanting to go vinyl siding but Im wondering what the price difference is compared to the metal? My question is though, if i do the metal siding should i go with the osb on the outside of the framed wall and attach metal to it, or should i insulate it on the inside and just put osb on the interior?

Around here, vinyl siding is just a fraction of the cost of steel siding, but you get what you pay for. Vinyl lasts just a fraction of the life of steel too. I put vinyl on my garage and before it was a year old, I got a small hail storm that punched holes in the vinyl. There weren't enough holes to file a claim, so I replaced the damaged panels, but the next time it happens, I'm collecting the insurance and dumping that "plastic" and going for steel. Plastic siding is like plastic cars. Very short life.
