Well this build is sort of on a stand still, our press break had a small malfunction and has been out of service for the past week. Hopefully our service guy got the 1400 $$ scale.
And also my wife gave birth to our beautiful son Dominick last night. Came in at 9lb 11 oz. Proud dad right here
But i will keep you posted as i build more. hopefully this weekend i get to tinker around with it a bit.

Thanks. Next step will be making the inside panels where all the drawer slides mount to.

Also had a good idea to do a big drawer in the bottom right for a filing cabinet. I deal with alot of blue prints and it would be nice to have a spot to organize them

On the last picture you can see the plate where all the drawer slides will be riveted on. I was gonna bolt those pieces on as you can see in this picture. 4 bolts but its such a pain. I decided i will be just stitching them on. Probly 6 stictches. Before i weld those on ill be priming in behind there

Subscribed, although you're almost done.

Coming along nicely and looks a damn sight sturdier than anything you could buy off the shelf.

Should be perfect for the 75% of the year that your RX7 will be off the road (damn rotors :))

Haha thanks guys. And yes the holes are just weight reduction. Its all 12 gage steel so its pretty heavy. Gotta save weight where i can. Lol although the drawers will be either aluminum, 14 or 16 gage steel so itll be a little lighter.

Did a little more on my tool box this morning. Put the 1x2 square tubing in where the drawer slide plates sit up against. Also primed in behind there to prevent some rusting in the future.
with these drawer slides the drawers will sit about 4" inside the box. Im ok with that though

heres also a photo of what i do on a regular basis. Plumbing modification on a preasure truck

Cool! Whereabouts in Alberta are you? Subscribing to this for sure! I don't really understand the high-end boxes either, I'm a fan of old Beach tool-boxes or for the money go get a Lista or Rousseau. But this will be damn cool!
