Building new garage soon

Just came across this site..I will be building new shop-garage etc soon. I will sub out some of work and do some myself. The problem I am having is my wife wants something that looks like a barn as she does not like the looks of a square steel building since it will be close to house, I know just get rid of her and build shop only problem is she stills has a job I have several different vehicles and trailers including a tractor so I want easy access so I don't have to move 1 to get another out. I am thinking 50x100 ft x 14-16ft high with a small apartment inside and maybe a lean two on back side for tractor and trailers Wife has seen Morton site and likes the looks so I have to conform - coupalas etc. anyone built something like this, if so please show me some pics. I have looked at steel buildings over the last year and could probably modify 1 of their plans, also was thinking of doing 3 course or so of concrete block then work up from there with wood or steel so moisture would not be a problem.

Sorry, I have to agree with the lady. I'm not a fan of metal buildings near the house...unless your house is metal. The picture you posted looks really nice. Just because it looks like barn from the outside, doesn't mean you have to have livestock inside.

Well the house is definitely not metal so I guess I have to go with wife, we might build new home and garage on another partial of land we own. as current home is only a 2-2 which we bought as a second home. I have only been married for 37 years so I better let her have her way or else.. The barn in picture is a post and beam kit out of Ohio. I really don't mind the barn look as it will never go out of style.
