Building plans for garage/workshop

I hope to have a garage/workshop built in my back yard this year. Perhaps members of this forum can provide ideas for construction and layout.

There are many sources for detailed building plans for houses. Are there firms which sell building plans for garages? I'm looking for something more than an ordinary vehicle storage building but less than full-out commercial quality. With a bit of luck I will buy a professional vehicle lift, so I need a plan which provides a high ceiling and sturdy concrete slab floor. If possible I will use trusses to achieve a clear-span workspace.

Try www.coolhouseplans.com they list plans for 450 garage plans from 1 car to 6 bay including RV which would give you a high cieling (or for that mater you can always modify an existing plan. Just because a plan is drawn for 8 foot sidewalls you can always go higher (of course check on your local zoning). Good luck - have fun!

Yes they have some nice looking buildings there, no doubt about that!

Another site is fbibuildings.com; you can draw your layout. Also, they have depictions of items you can add to the drawing, i.e., stretch trucks, riding lawnmowers, workbenches, etc.
