I am buying a new house to me and it only has a smaller two car garage. It does have a wide rv gate next to it and is pretty deep. I am thinking on building on an additional single car and making it a little deeper off the existing home. Has anyone done this or has any pictures?

Stop, before you buy...

Is that your house in the pictures?
If it's your neighbors house you better find the offset the city has.
My last place was 5', my current is 10'
If your's is 10-15' you might not be able to fit much...

Yes it's the neighbors house on the left. I will have to check but not interested in building something big, just wide enough to put store a car in and maybe two cars deep. I don't want to build it for working on them, just to keep them stored. Just wanted to see if anyone has built on to an existing garage with keeping the original wall in place.

Sure, lean to type roofs are done all time.
But, per Mr N. Idoubt you would be legal.
The set back requirments will nail you.
If it is just for storage, get a tarp.
