Has anyone here actually built a replica of the old-style gas pumps? I know there are lots of places that sell them, I am thinking a semi-low buck DIY project. I realize there will be some special items to buy, like the globe on top. Maybe not an EXACT replica of a certain model, but inspired by those from 1920s-1950s.

As nice as those wood ones are (and there are very nice) I just couldn't do a wood one. Has to be metal. Just my 2 cents.
Given lots of thought to this idea but no time to invest.
Good luck RD. Could be fun.

Somewhere I have seen a round top fridge thst was painted and converted to look like a fat gaspump.
It was very nice. Seemed easy enough, just paint and decals a hose and nozzle and a globe.

I guess a standard shaped fridge would make a nice gilbarco(I think that's them) mid 70's pump.
