I found a piece of Unistrut and made a moving system for my Heavy Bag... It was always in the way and I have wanted to do this for some time...

I'll include some photos of the Garage "SO FAR" as well...

Very nice! I have a wall mount for my heavy bag that has a 4' arm that allows it to swing in and out that I paid too much money for, but it was my only option. How does your bag lock into place when you slide it out?

I put in end bolts and a I can put a pin in to keep it in place. My Garage looks open now and not chopped in half by a hanging Bag in the Middle of my Garage... time well invested. Took longer to paint it than it did to hang it.

Great idea, I'm suprised you dont see more uni-strut used around the garage. I had 20 sticks left over from a job a years ago. Used it to build a couple nice workbenches, a hanging shelf and a jig to lift a pickup bed of the frame using a engine hoist.

What did you use for the slide? I know they make trolley wheels that fit into the strut channel.

Love your garage - nice, clean, and organized! I have been thinking of ideas to hang my bag back up. I was going to build a swing out arm, but I like what you have there. What are you using to slide in the unistrut to side the bag?

When I finish my drywall/electrica project, I am going to use some unistrut and conduit hangers on the walls to secure my free standing shelving. I worry that some of the small earthquakes we have will produce enough lateral motion that it will tip over one of these shelves onto one of our cars; that would really ****...

Thanks guys... What I used was based on a days milling around looking to make a roller system and something just popped out as the easiest solution for me.
I used a 4" shackle pin and cut it down to about 1.5 inches. The pin has a flat tab with a hole that seemed to be just right. Here are some photo's mounted. I used a cut off saw and just cut it to size and rounded off the end as not to 'catch' and jam on me. You'll see some red grease that really freed it up to slide with ease. A hole and pin hold it in place for use...
