Just finnished it off today took me a few evenings to do and I really enjoyed being in the garage on my own with no worries or distrations doing it. 99% of the pieces I got for free like the drum brake off a dump truck, a 3 foot piece of steel pipe and a lat piece of metal. All I had to buy was a piece of used 1 foot x 1 foot piece of flat sheet. Got the grinder mounted on it today and it looks great.

Looks great. Please don't tell me that you did all that beautiful work and then blasted red paint all over the floor. Garage or not, at least throw a piece of cardboard down first. Respect the workshop, man. :)

Love it.... I was in a rush, so I put a 3/4 pipe in a bucket of concrete. It does the job . Looks like poop compared to yours.

Now I am motivated/forced to make something as nice as yours. I would post a picture but I'm to embarrassed .

Again great job!!

I didn't notice that I forgot about laying down a sheet of carboard til after I was done. I'm also making a fold down shelf for my tool cart and I'm gonna paint that next week

My old commercial shop floor was covered with many sets of outlines from things built and painted. Each reminded me of the project and time spent.

Now that is one Heavy Duty stand. I used a 15" wheel. It works great cause I can tip and roll it anywhere I want. I also use the bottom of the wheel dish for storage of buffers etc.

I don't actually paint on the floor without a dropcloth or a piece of cardboard, but my floor really looks like **** anyway from all the different fluids, oils, dirt and **** that just go along with shop work; so Charlie you are definetely not alone if your shop floor looks like **** there are plenty of us out there! BTW, great looking grinder stand!

The overspray is funny! I've been painting parts for my metal lathe at work aat the end of on of the parts isles. It's amazing how far that ivory paint drifted and then settled on the brick red floor. Oops! It kind of bugs me, but brings a smile at the same time.

Good job with the grinder stand. Probably dampens any vibrations pretty well.

Another great use of old metal destined for the scrap heap. Great job. Something that will last a LONG time.

Just picked up a 8" bench grinder and the one thing that always comes to mind is always hating the darned thing skipping across the bench, so I am in process of building me a nice heavy grinder stand too!
