Here it is, I'm thinking of skinning the sides and having some ghost flames sprayed on.

What are you using this bender for?

Do you think it'll be tough to make some bends on large components, like roll hoops and whatnot?

I was debating building one, but I'm just going to buy the JD model 3, and then modify it as needed, possibly with air-over-hydro piston.

They're typically built for a 1.5" or 1.75" die, and work great for building cages.

Start reading... It's a long topic...

That is some very nice work.
I have an old muffler tubing bender I need to resurrect one of these days.
Is that a Dana 60 under the Jeep?

The bender will do up to 1/2"-2" and .049-.120 wall thickness and up to a 7" radius, but I've heard of several people doing even thicker walled tubing with one. Mine will be used to make a plethra of jeep parts (tube fenders, bumpers, and eventually a cage for my Heep). And yes that is a HP Dana 60 under the front of my jeep, there's a GM 14bolt in the rear.

so is this a HF bender hybrid?? is that where the bending die came from? nice work. i might have to build one.
No not at all, the Die is from a pro-tools 105 bender and everything else is based on the plans from gottrikes.com The bender that Harbor freight sells is a PIPE bender and a 2" pipe has a 2" Inside Diameter where as a 2" section of tube has a 2" outside diamter, so the dies in the harbor freight bender arn't very useful when it comes to bending tube. The only thing from harbor freight on my bender is that ram.

Nice work. How much do you have into the bender?

I assume you purchased the plans mention on the pirate board?

Here's my version of the same bender. It's cool to see everyone's personal touch. I added threaded bolts to hang the dies on and made the base beefier so it doens;t tip over. I will definitely add the lock down bolts to keep it from rolling as you reposition the tubes.

Plans from: www.gottrikes.com (I will not e-mail anyone my copy of the plans, this guy deserves to make the money for a great design)

Works fantastic with the air/hydro ram.

Here is one I built using a Model 3. Man is it nice not having to pull on that handle a thousand times. I built a complete cage for my jeep last fall and some other tube stuff for it. Don't use it a lot but it's nice to have when you need it.
