...for my 22 month old grandson, Cody. I know this may not be what you expected but I believe we've got to start the kids off young if we want them to get interested in garage stuff like tools and workbenches. Cody's first word he ever said was "car". All his favorite toys are cars and trucks. My daughter and son-in-law are car people too so they were all for Grandpa buying Cody this workbench.

Here's a couple pictures of the workbench he helped me assemble this morning. While it may be a toy, it does have stuff he can learn with such as toy nuts and bolts, toy screwdriver, toy wrench, and even a toy drill. He "worked" at his bench until my daughter picked him up after running her errands. The good news is they live just across the street so he will be able to "work" at his bench a lot.

Was checking out roller cabinets at Sears the other day and they have a cute tyke size one. Kept trying to thing who I could buy it for. Would be a perfect size for your grandson.

I have a nine month old grandson that lives with us. He is so funny to watch play. He is in the pulling up on stuff and walking along it while he holds on stage. He pulls up and heads straight for me. :D I love it. Makes my wife so mad when he don't pay her attention.

He's hooked. Great job pappy! Wish my sons were like that. Have a 4yr daughter that loves to be with me in the garage playing with tools. I love it. She know more about tools than the boys will.

My two daughters (I had no sons) loved spending time in the garage with me as they were growing up. I taught them what tools and cars were all about. When the oldest was a teenage she was dating a nice guy from her school. One night on a date his mom's car had a flat tire. He was at a total loss as what to do. My daughter wound up changing the tire for him. It did not take long for her to drop him. She married a guy who did know his way around tools and cars. He works for the railroad, is a volunteer fireman, and has a 4-wheel drive pickup. Between me and my son-in-law, I believe we can turn Cody into a real gearhead.

Here's a picture when he was only 6 months old getting exposed to an engine in Grandpas garage. I was working on a big block Corvette when my daughter brought him over that day.
