Saw this in one of those DIY magazines so I thought I'd give it a try.

Nailed rails to the spacers.

Applied one step Minwax Polyshades. Yes, it is one step if you count sanding and applying a second coat as part of the first step...

4" x 2" x 1/4" aluminum hardware. Fastenal cut 25 fo these for only $5. (plus 30 cents an inch for the material)

Tight fit. You need to camfer the edges to make things slide together.

Installation. Had to be a little creative mounting this on the wall with no help.

Up on the wall at last. I installed the bottom rail after it was up in order to hide the support strip.

I notice you have one of those triangle things for supporting stuff while you cut it. How has it worked for you?

Looks good I just finished up a modified version of that along one of the walls in my garage. Sure can hold alot of stuff on it. I need to make more brackets up for hooks one of these days.
