bulk section

Just curious as to what you folks have to say about bulk sections in toolboxes, are they useful for storage or just wasted space?

I personally don't mind them for power tool storage but prefer drawers

they can be useful

and they can be catchall's and wasted place.

all depends on how you organize stuff.

1st couple of roller cabs i owned had the open storage in the bottom, and i needed drawer space.....
after i got drawer space, i found out i needed open/bulk storage

most of my blow molded cases fit in drawers, less used powertools are left in their cases, others get stored in side boxes.

depends on what you have and how you like to store it. i used a side box with a large open area in the bottom of my Cman for years. great for the battery charger and a few other bulky things. then i picked up a MAC top and bottom and was able to spread things around. now the charger and other things are in the large bottom drawers of the Cman and i sold the side box

It depends on your needs, but they're wasted space, IMO. I don't need a locking cabinet in my garage. I could see the need if you had bulky items that you needed to be able to lock up every day.
