Bump starter switches?

Lookung for information on remote start switches you know the hand held momentary switches for bumping the motor over.

I was wondering if any of the bump start switches on the market can be taken apart for repairs.

I made one to keep on my service truck a long time ago. It’s crude but does the job, it’s just a push button switch with alligator clips clamped to the wires. Wrapped up in black tape for insulation. Use it for a lot of stuff when I don’t have a helper (which is never). It was made on the fly because my store bought one fragged out at the most inopportune time while working on a piece of equipment that HAD to be running yesterday. If I were to take the time I would make an actual handle for it but I’m too lazy for that.

I made one out of an old door bell switch, some wire and a couple alligator clips over 25 yrs ago. Still works when I occasionally need it.

Got a cheap one at HF, works well. They’re pretty simple switches. For the few times I’ve needed it, didn’t see much reason to get fancy or spend much money on it.

This one doesn’t look repairable but has served me well for many years.
