I dug this out of a storage cabinet today. I got it years ago as a potential vacuum pump. It is marked John Bunn model 400-002. I can't fond any specs on it. I would like to find out if it is actually a vacuum pump and what level of vacuum it can pull.

Well, the one I found on the internet says it’s for medical and dental use. I have a similar sized one on a vacuum press, tho I suspect mine is bigger, based on the design

Mine seems a Gast 00522-v57-g18dx. Found a sheet for a newer version. It pulls reasonably high vacuum, but low volume. 1.5 CFM @ 0 in hg, down to 0.3 at 22 in hg. Chart claims it will go to 30 in hg, but it’s never achieved it in use.

Yours will be less volume.

Imagine where your dentist uses a vacuum.
