Hi, its me again, i am the one that posted the question about the lighthouse wiring! i went out and bought some buried cable wire but now i am having second thoughts about burying it unprotected - can i put the buried cable in PVC conduit or is that just a silly waste of money? the buried cable in the ground would be a lot easier and quicker! thanks BOB

Yes you can run it in PVC conduit. And no it's not a silly waste of money. The conduit needs to be the proper size for the wire. What type and size cable did you end up getting?

The advantage to running the wire in conduit is that you don't have to bury it as far. On the other hand, if you are already planning on going two feet down or more, then you really don't need the conduit. UF wire is designed for direct burial. There are a few million miles of it currently installed without conduit.
