Anybody ever tried one of these? It's an extension you chuck up in a die grinder & has it's own collet for the burr. Just wondering if they can work as advertised or are just waiting to maim you.

I recently got the extended shank aircat die grinders. I really don't need this but I'd would like to get one to try, but damn 40 bucks though!

I've made my own, what a god send. Much more accurate and stable. Online with a good electric when you're doing repetitive porting work but having an additional 6 or 12" of reach really allows you to get deep into some areas. The down side is you gotta watch your speed. Too much RPM and one little bump and ugly **** happens really quick.

Well, I'm giving the one on Ebay a shot. Just bought my first elec die grinder & a few burrs for some upcoming projects. It's worth trying this before investing on a selection of long shank burrs.

thx

Got it. Quality looks good, if a bit heavier than I expected. Not a bad thing though. Balance is good. Haven't worked with it yet, but I did spin it up in my new Metabo & it remains glass smooth on max. No noticable vibration.
