Bushing for Flex

How do you secure the bushing that goes onto Flex Cable.
It's not like BX where you have the bond that you just loop...

are you talking about the little plastic sleeve that slides over the wire and inside the metal to protect the wires?

If you are using the proper type of box connectors, they will retain the sleeve and keep it from coming out of the cable.

It never even registered the connector would hold it in place....
All these years working with BX, the bond wire was always the *holder* before getting it on the connector body.

It all makes sense ...duh

THIS is NOT a Romex connector. (actually the description says it is also suitable for Romex, but you would need to break out the ring and slots in the inside of it.)

Look closely, it looks like a regular Romex connector except for the ring and slots in the bottom of it. This allows the wires to pass thru, and blocks the little red plastic sleeve with the flange on it, from pushing out. There is a little ear on the bushing that is suppose to catch in a slot, but I don't have much luck with that.

THIS one is wide open all the way thru, it is designed for Romex and cord.

Nobody I know uses the anti short bushings. Here's a snippet taken from Southwire's MC installation manual:

"Anti-short bushings are not required for use with MC cable per the NEC and UL"

True, but in many localities, they ARE required. The connectors you linked would be a substitute for the anti-short here.
