Does anyone know anything about a Butler Tool company? I bought a lot of sockets and found these two 1/2" and 9/16" impact sockets in the bunch, but a quick google search didn't really turn up much.

I wonder if they supplied one of the GM plants with assembly sockets. I've never heard of them. But I'm from that general vicinity and I know every little town in my area had at least one small factory supplying something to the big three.

That's an interesting theory. Owosso is pretty close to Flint where they assemble the Silverado.

Owosso has a pretty neat history and really contributed over the years to the Automotive world. I wouldn't be surprised to see this company as a small supplier. I'm about 30 miles away and worked in the industry , that said, I'm not familiar w/ the name. There is a Owosso Historical Society, they might be able to answer your question.

You're right on the money. Butler Tool supplied the big three. I have several of their sockets but accumulating anything close to a set would probably be impossible. I suppose they were used on nutrunners. I'm a flea market scrounger so the covid is really holding me back.
