  • I’m sure there should be a little bit of preload on this by spacing the strike further away from the latch, but how much?

I suppose i could Mount one on a set of vice soft jaws and play with it. Might be the opportunity to buy a set of gauge pins I’ve been wanting!

I think it should put some load into the spring so it’s positively latched.

IMG_2012.jpeg Not compressing any seal. This is an additional shield layer that will encompass the other from the machining tungsten thread. I will be recasting the ugly half again on Monday. Thinking I’ll put two of these latches on each side.

Oh sorry Pb is lead. Yes 1l thick lead. My second most favorite material to machine! Tools do last a lot longer!
