I am looking to buy an 18v heavy duty hammer driver/drill, but not sure what brand to get. I see a LOT of various cordless tools in pawn shops.
But, I never buy any because I wonder if the batteries are almost shot and if the tools are worn out or defective.
What do you think? Does buying batteries cost as much as a whole new kit?
Do you ever buy cordless tools from pawn shops?

I have bought several different cordless tools from pawn shops over the years. Two weeks ago I bought a Snap on cordless drill from a local pawn shop. I have had good luck over the years with them. As long as the tools don't look beat to death I am willing to take a chance on them as most of the pawn shops I go to have a 30 day return policy on their tools.
