Biting down on then spitting out the shotgun pellets is part of the tradition of eating meat you hunted yourself. Swallowing one or two tiny little lead balls wont hurt anything.
Turkey hunting uses larger shot than other birds so its much easier to find and remove the pellets.
Like most of modern suburbia, the city I live is was open farm land until sometime after WWII. Well, one farmer raised turkeys. As suburbia most his way, he sold off his fields, but kept several acres that were fenced for his yearly flock of turkeys.
It is still there today ! The pens and coups will be empty and quiet by Monday or Tuesday of next week !
The only decent meat Ive ever seen in a wild turkey was the breast, the rest of its tough as hell, very unlike the fat farm-raised turkeys where you can eat dam near everything.
And for the record, you dont need a license to get a turkey if you hit it with a four-wheeler.
