I was thinking of a hf us general, but I have read they are **** and not asme cert. I can't really buy an eaton but would love to have one. Any other options that some of you can think of. If not h.f. is the way too go for me.

I'm going to get their 80 gallon, 7.5hp two stage.
26CFM @ 175 PSI @ 600 rpm pump speed
AWESOME.

They are great if you can possibly swing one, it should be a once in a lifetime purchase if you take care of it. Factor in the lack of aggravation from having to wait for it all the time or have to worry it wont run some air tool & you have a pretty powerful argument against getting a 'cheap' one. I have the 80 gal 2 cyl which will run anything I'll ever hook to it, is quiet and paid for itself within 6 mo's by labor saved by not having to take the cars into the dealer for suspension work.

You don't say what size compressor or what you intend to use it for.

Looking at the HF website, the 7.5hp/80 two stage USGen compressor is ASME certified tank and I seem to recall this unit being made by a company in North Carolina, ABAC/IMC.

In fact, all USGen they show are ASME tanks except for the wheel barrow compressor.
