So I have a chance to buy a two year old 5s double bay. Its supercharged silver with chrome trim. Stock wheels (no spring casters) phenolic top. 44x57 1/2 x28.. It has 11 drawers. Two full length top drawers. 4 drawers on the left and 5 on right.. Its a friend of mine who owns it and he special ordered and its paid for, he is getting out of wrenching.

This is a home box for me. Any thoughts on this model and drawer set up. New it was $7-8k.. What should a guy look to pay for it.. He keeps telling me to make a offer on it.. I kinda think $2k-3k would be a good deal.

Looks like $2500-$2800 would be fair for that box depending on condition. I just did a couple minute search cause my knowledge is mostly SO boxes but they look to be pretty nice.

4s double bays in my area usually seem to go for $1400-1800 on CL. I would think a used 5s would land in the mid 2s. Can't say i've been watching particularly hard as i'm actually just looking for a matching 2bay 4s to go with my 3bay. :p

$2500. Careful you might insult him offering a realistic number if he was actually fool enough to pay full list.

if you offer 25 he is gonna know you are serious and jack up the price
if you know the guy joke with him about 1500 taking it home, then pretend to be serious at 2K.... put one foot in the water at a time, ya know?
dont low ball him at a grand, but just test the waters.

I had a 6s. Super well built. Matco makes a great box. The only reason I currently have a Snap-On over a Matco is Snap-On simply gave me a better deal
