I'm looking for a Miller 211 w/ autoset and a TRANSFORMER model.

I see a few on ebay, does anyone have experience buying something like that off of ebay? Where have others bought used welders from?

Buying used on eBay can be a **** shoot. I bought my MM210 new on eBay from IOC, and had a great experience.

It is a **** shoot. Unless you can remove the cover who knows what you have. Just purchased a Miller xmt 350 mpa, lucked out as the seller had a lightly used unit just tested/cleaned/calibrated. Major issues with well used units is how old and how much grinding dust/metal particles are inside and whether unit was subject to repeated condensation. Many times you can tell how much use/abuse a unit has had by carefully checking out all pics.

Other than new, I'd be leery of buying a welder on eBay. I've bought a couple off Craigslist and had the chance to test them before paying....that's what matters.

I didn't have any luck finding a used one for a reasonable price when I was looking. I ended up buying new for only a little more than what people wanted used.

I tested my Lincoln AC/DC before plunking down the cash. I'd never buy a welder or any heavy-duty electronic item untested.
