Has anyone bought those 20% coupon codes for lowes or home depot and had them work? Example: there is 20% HD coupon @ fleabay that the seller already used, so they are selling for the competitors stores and they say the competitors will honor it.

I have a $1000 purchase coming up and paying 10 bucks for one of these would save me some money! Let me know.

Tried once, did not work.

You can go do giftcardzen.com and get them for 3-4% off. I think they are mostly Scrip cards, which are used for fundraising (I use the heck out of them for my kids' swim team).

I have never tried to use a HF coupon anywhere but HF. that said , why anyone would " pay " for a HF coupon is beyond me. you can go to - hfqpdb.com and down load for free any coupon you need.

I just did an eBay purchase recently for an online only promo code, $50 off $250 or more I think it was, for Lowes. Cost me under $1, the code was in my inbox about 10 seconds after purchase (guaranteed under 3 min) and it worked just fine. They seller just had a "bot" that emails the codes after payment.

I didn't like the idea of waiting for a physical coupon to arrive in the mail. The online promo codes are cheaper, and I'd rather see if it works from my living room instantly after purchase then having to wait a few days, take a drive, get annoyed..

My experience with it was a good one.. Just look at the sellers feedback first.

I used one on a tool box at Home Depot & the coupon specifically says excludes tool storage. They actually gave me $50 off of 300 because it was already on sale. 20% would have been $60 but I consider it a success. From what I read before trying it they'll do it if the company that issued the coupon is close enough to be a local competitor & they sell similar items.

Interesting, this would be for an online only item (AHP Tig Welder).

I don't see anything about welders or AHP on the coupons so I think it's good to go. If someone knows otherwise please tell me! Just can't find a good deal on a coupon. All the 20% off ones I see are in the $15 to $40 range. For some reason my wallet has a mind of it's own, that just can't justify paying someone that kind of money for a used coupon.

I sent the seller a message and told him the coupon says "void if sold or transferred over the internet" and he said he used it at lowes already but home depot will match it, and that it is only void from a lowes stand point not home depot by selling it....lol

Do you have to have the welder right now? Personally I'd wait until a more reasonably priced coupon became available. Sure spending $10 to save $200 might seem like a good deal, but $10 for a piece of crummy paper, where the useful information has already been used, sounds nuts to me.

You guys may be skeptical, but I buy TONS of giftcards from raise.com they are routinely 8-9-10% off (instore or virtual) cards, and then they have discount codes all the time sent to my emai for 3-5% more off.

I literally spent 800 dollars in giftcards online, worth like 1100, then went to store, got items on sale + military discount at lowes.

Bam, got a 2500 dollar set for less than 900 bucks total. Totally worth it.

Or you could buy it from amazon and save over a hundred bucks from the get.

The one on HD looks like it might be last years model from the pic. They made a bunch of improvements for 2016. You do not want the old model.

I noticed that as well. But I think I read somewhere that it is the newest 2016 model.

Only reason I really want to buy from HD is because they are a 10 min. drive, plus I have a construction account there so I don't get any BS if something breaks or goes wrong with it. Plus I have a couple hundred in gift cards that I could put towards it.

Amazon is my fall back option. Would like to get a 20% coupon to work so I could get it for cheaper then amazon and apply my gift cards for no net loss.

As far as online purchases and price match/coupon match, HD has always told me they will only apply the lowes coupon if lowes sells the same item.

What about seeing if they'll match the Amazon price?

I some stores will, some won't. Bestbuy would match it as lons as it was sold and shipped by Amazon and not a reseller. I believe this item is direct from AHP though. Your mileage may vary.

HD has fine print in their match verbage that states they do not match online only stores such as amazon.
