Any suggestions where I can purchase metal roofing for my barn near Concord, NC. I looked on line, but it seems that there are very limited choices. Does it pay to have it shipped in, seems like it would be expensive.

I bought mine at Back Home Metal Roofing in Grayson, Ga. That's NE of Atlanta. There is probably a similar place closer to you.

The advantage of buying from them over HD is you give them your measurements and it's all cut to length. You're not buying any extra material and you don't have to make any cuts.

Also a much better selection of thickness & pattern. I did the ceiling of my shop in a thinner gauge than the roof of the portico out back.

Look towards the end of my build thread for photos.

My local HD also offers this service if you order the material. I'm not pushing Home Depot, just giving the OP some options.

I think mid-state is where I got quotes from a couple years ago when I was looking at re-doing my roof with metal.

Their prices were very reasonable as I recall and they sent me several free sample for me to look at.

most the medal roofing dealers around here in SW VA have their own trailers that they tow behind a pick-up and can haul up to the max length allowed. No need for a TT to ship

Lowes sells Union Corrugating brand. The last time I ordered metal roofing from Lowes, which was about 4 or 5 months ago, I ordered 2 sheets and they sent 3 with one of the sheets being used as a protection sheet. I was kind of surprised when I went to Lowes and picked it up. The sheet was a little bent where the bands came across the sheet but nothing I couldn't bend back. I don't know if other manufactures do that or not. Price at the time was around $2.00 per foot in length.
