I having been borrowing a friends framing nail gun for projects and I want to buy my own. I have a bunch of P/C finish nailers and staplers and want a framing/siding combo. Menards has 11% off til Saturday and this is what the have on sale now.
Bosch SN350-20F $169 less 11%, Bosch SN350-34C $149 less 11%, Porter Cable $149 less 11% and Hitachi NV90AG $219 less 11%. I would only use it a couple times a year on remodel projects. I would like to be able to shot 2" on a small siding project along with framing nails.

What do you guys suggest I buy?

Any of those guns would do the job for occasional use. I would look at the cost and availability of the nails and the differences in features. I know the PC is an offshore gun if that makes any difference. I don't know if the others are or not.

I bought all my guns used at various local pawn shops. Now is the best time of the year to buy a used gun in areas that get cold. The trades guys are selling/pawning their stuff for the winter and few people are buying.

If you don't need it tomorrow, I held out for the Zoro 30% off flash sale and got my big Paslode for about $189 ish.

I ended up with this Dewalt, http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00VSO35WM/?tag=atomicindus08-20

I researched the **** out of them.... I really liked the Bosch til I read a few articles that Bosch are hard to find parts for/they might be getting out of the air tool biz.

The Dewalt I have has adjustable depth (really useful) holds plenty of nails, has a rafter hook (love that feature) can shoot a variety of nails and overall runs great.

I also considered the PC, but it just looked cheap. I wanted a full head nailer, not clipped head.. I'm not doing any production stuff, and like being able to rip one nail off if i want and hammer it it.

Home depot should sell this model, and i think they are matching the 11% off... check the Hot Deals forum :)

Top three brands are: Hitachi, Senco and Paslode.

Porter Cable, Bosch, DeWalt, Bostich, etc would be next level.

Lots of Home Depot scores so you should find something on CL or Ebay.

I like my used Hitachi that I paid $100 on CL with box of nails. It's super lightweight and works perfectly.

My Paslode framer has been flawless, but to be honest, I've probably shot only 15-20000 nails (5 or so boxes) in 6 years. A pro would shoot that many in a few weeks.

My PC finish and brad nailers work well and I've got a Bostich sheathing stapler and roofer, which are fine also.

Even my no name $10 (maybe less, I can't remember) stapler from Menards works ok.

Bottom line: Air nailers are a mature product. Unless you are a pro, any modern air nailer will last you at least most of a lifetime.

I bought my Bostich back in the late 80's and it has an internal air leak and needs rebuilt.
If I was buying another one I would look at the coil Nailers instead of the stick type.
Anyone use a coil nailer?

My dad has a Paslode that is older than me. Anytime I need, I can borrow it.

Never have had to do anything to it. No work, no broken parts, no nothing.

Tens of thousands of nails and it is still solid as ever.

It is a heavy ****** tho.

First nailers i got were Bostich coil frame and finisher, but both had leaking problems, replaced the gaskets and leaked again next month. Now I got all Hitachi nailers over here and that was what was recommended by our private contractors. I have the coil frame, coil roof, finishing, brad, staple and all performed well for the past 10 years.

Porter Cable. Durable and it is easy to replace the O rings in the trigger mechanism. I have four guns and had to only repair (replace an O ring) one gun in four years. The contractors around my way mainly use Porter Cable. They abuse the heck out of them and they keep on working. The model is the 21 degree full head framer.
