I got a light, charger, skillsaw, sawzall, and a battery from some pawn shop, just listed as kit contains xxxx. I asked if it worked, and he said yes. So I got all that for a little over the price of the light.

I would have wiped a few specs of sheetrock mud off the saw, and listed as 'all looks new.'

It doesn't always work that way though.

Take a look at the pictures, read the description, look at the seller's feedback. If it seems sketchy then walk away, if it doesn't seem sketchy then give it a shot.

reason i ask is bc im looking at M12 2597-22 kit to replace my current cman 19.2 (nicad) drill/impact set. the M12 should be just as powerful (the cman drill has 70in-lbs more, not sure if thats noticeable or what since the M12 in brushless) . alot lighter and dont need to recharge the batteries everyday when not in use lol plus the M12 is brushless.

M12 drill VS cman drill
350in-lbs - 420in-lbs
1/2 chuck - 1/2 chuck
1700rpms - 1400rpms
hammer opt - no hammer opt

M12 impact VS cman impact
1200in-lbs - 900in-lbs
2650rpms - 2400rpms
3550bpm - 3300bpm

Unless you were getting it for like $100, I'd just buy it new. Ask your local home depot if they accept harbor freight 20% off coupons.

i looked into CPO and they offer a free M12 4.0 battery with the order so thats a better deal since i was going to buy another battery anyways. the ebay deal plus 4.0 comes out to the same **** basically so im better off going with CPO.

They're who I bought my Milwaukee stuff from, back when they had the deal of buy a set and get a bare tool for free. They shipped my order in a timely manner and it arrived in a timely manner, and I got everything I paid for, so I don't have any complaints about them and would feel safe ordering from them again, which I will do, once they get a better deal going and I figure out what else I need.

As far as the 70-in lbs goes, I doubt you'll notice. My 12v Fuel drill far outstrips my old Ryobi 18v, and at something like half the size and weight. For basic stuff around the house, and nothing super in depth on a car, the M12 line is awesome and there's no need for the 18v stuff. I'd only go 18v for the super in depth stuff, or if you're a pro.

that's good to know. im just looking for the M12 to do what my old setup did but be lighter/smaller and more efficient battery wise bc i hate how my nicad batteries would die within couple of days of not being used.

i also have a corded Milwaukee magnum for bigger jobs if i need it and i never use electric impacts on cars so that shouldn't be an issue either.

I bought my Milwaukee M-18 set on ebay. Retail was $700; HD was $400, ebay was $225. Seller claimed to be an authorized Milwaukee dealer, although I didn't vet him. It's been 6 years, and I built my entire house with the tools. The only service so far has been a new set of brushes for the 1/4" driver, which I used a LOT. Tough tools- the 1/4" driver has fallen 10 feet or more, and the SawzAll got left out in the rain- twice.

As long as it is a legit distributor you won't have a problem with warranty. I've purchased new 20v Dewalt batteries and a charger off eBay and never had a problem with them. The key is to look at rating, read feedback, and ask questions before buying. I always ask questions to cover myself in the event of something breaking or arriving broken. eBay has come a long way with customer support and will reimburse your money if the seller is in the wrong. I had a few instances where eBay had to step in and I always got my money back. One of those times I had copies of messages from the seller calling me a "****" and lying about shipping costs. I got my money...

Are you talking new, used or refurb?

Is the seller an authorized retailer or a private seller?

Your question is too broad for a specific answer. Post a link to the auction you're looking at.

I'd be more confident in corded and concerned about cordless and real concerned about brushless cordless.

I've bought quite a few tools on Ebay... used Plasma cutter, new and used Hilti hammers, new and used Impacts, Air tools. It all comes down to knowing what you looking for
and "be aware (not Beware)" of the situation.

New without box is the safety bet to save money... if something is Used ask questions or for additional Pics. The more info you have the better you can weigh in on the deal/value and condition...
