I would buy that snap on for $50
Clean it up and use it but don't pour money into it
I bet you could part it out for a profit if you had to

I didn't read every post. If it is the box in Radush's post, that puppy is rough. That said, do you want a project? That box is a project for sure. I think you will find better choices regardless of price. That box will consume lots of time, sand paper and paint. As much as I love Snappy, I would have to pass on that box almost regardless of price. And I don't pass on much cheap Snappy

Look on the right side front rail, near the bottom. You should see a s/n and date stamped into the metal. It could be faint, so try looking at different angles.

That's a good box, I always liked those. Like that pull out shelf on the top.

What did it set you back?

Congrats man that is a nice box good layout. Throw a piece of wood or the like on top for a work surface and you would have a real nice cart. I think it was worth the wait on your end. I'd guess early to mid 90's, but as Jake said check the bottom frame rail for exact year.

As for the horizontal deep socket organizer. About the two only options would be socket rails or shadow the drawer with foam and make a cutout for the sockets to sit in so they don't roll around. If you wanted to get fancy you could make a hinged socket rail so it would fold up for use then fold flat for storage. Like a drill index.
