It's time to bite the bullet and get a good welding helmet. I was just curious if anyone had any particular dealer that they prefer. Looking at a 9100XX at $400, so every little bit helps.

I just got the Jackson bh3 after extensive research. Awesome helmet. I paid 220ish on Amazon.

Do tell! I'm with you on hating green tint.

When I first started welding I decided to buy a Miller titanium 9400. Top of the line cost quite a bit. After using it for a few weeks I realized it gave me headaches and the green tint didn't show much for puddle clarity. I then sold the helmet and switched to a regular Jackson (lightweight camo)helmet and bought a gold lense from a recommendation from a welder I knew. The difference was night and day, now I only use passive welding helmets and gold lenses. I've been thinking of switching back to an auto like a Jackson balder or Truesight but I still love my regular old passive shade Jackson camo, or an old school sellstrom flip front with a gold lense.
I should also note I've demo'ed the two auto helmets that I mentioned which are very nice helmets but I love how lightweight my current helmet is.
