Buying Used Lift

Looking at a used Bendpak 12K 2-post lift that was made in 2005 and used daily in a shop. The one bad thing is it has the base plate which I can see as a tripping hazard and for wheeled/caster items. Would you be adverse to buying a used lift that was used like this?

It would depend on the condition of the lift and has it been maintained. The cost of the unit and where it is located would be other things to think about.
