Bypass 6 pin relay

I would like to bypass a 6-pin relay on a 2004 Nissan Xterra. This is the Park/Neutral relay. It works like the picture with the switches and coil, but it is numbers like the on without switches (3&5 on the left and 5&7 on the right).

I am trying to narrow down a no crank issue. Replaced the starter, worked for a few days and now does not work. Jumping a wire from battery to starter solenoid to get it started. I am considering wring a push button start to the cab, but if bypassing this relay is possible, I might just do that.

Do you think it might be the relay ? If so is there another one of the same part number you can swap it with to try ?

Worked perfectly. Now why is it not closing? I swapped another relay (one from the antitheft) and still did not work.

It looks like the relay coil gets a signal from the neutral safety switch. probably a ground signal.
Edit :Terminal 2 of the PNP is 12v+ see if there is 12v at that terminal and then see if there is 12v at terminal 2 of the start relay
that may be the 1st area to look at
Check to see if it has reverse lamps ( could be a symptom)

check for corroded connectors and system grounds
or bad ignition switch

Get out the multimeter....

With key on, engine off, do you have:

1) Ground on 1?
2) Battery Voltage on 2?
3) Battery voltage on 3 with the key in crank position?

Terminal 2 of the PNP is 12v+ ,see if there is 12v at that terminal and then see if there is 12v at terminal 2 of the start relay
Terminal 1 on the starter relay is ground which activates the start relay, let us know how you make out.

Shift the transmission to neutral and try to start with the key. If it's starts, the neutral safety switch is bad. You may be able to look at the dash and see if it shows the vehicle is in park.

Anti theft relay as shown will not work. It is a Single Pole, Double Throw relay, (SPDT). The relay in question is a Double Pole, Single Throw , (DPST). These are NOT interchangeable.
