I stand corrected. The blue over the entire depressed area looks great.

Me too. It looks good now like that with the slightly worn areas lightly sanded off.
What matters is that it's the way the owner likes it!

This situation reminds me of when a grumpy looking chap approached me in a car park, looked my Land Rover up and down, then without any introduction said: "Those wheels are wrong"! I replied that they are not 'wrong', it's my vehicle and i like the wheels, so they are 'right' for me! In fact the wheels are original and were supplied with the vehicle from the factory when new as a non standard option.:D He didn't like hearing that..
