Your bike looks fantastic.
Thanks.
Here are some photos of the actual tools from a tool kit...

That's the same site I used. That's where I got its entire history from, its production, its wartime deployment, its postwar deployment, and its REME repair record. All of that from SN's and keys. It would make a jeep guy faint.
I need to regroup and refine my list of missing pieces and finish assembling my bike...
I did some simple things and farmed some things out and mine is not yet on the road, sadly. Long story that I am not going to tell. :)
I too just discovered this thread. Thanks for posting your story Lugz.
 If I could end it with it running and stopping, it would be better. HAHA.

This is what Ive started with and I havent done much except collect parts ... Stuck working most of the time working 3 hours away from my projects. But I'll get there. Henk from the WD site told me that mine was a 43 dispatched to the London War Office . Serial number for the tank and the contract number it was built under. But thats all the info available.

Great bikes--I had seen Lugz's WDM20 in earlier posts, causing me to drool into my laptop but this is the first I've seen of BSAschields' beautiful machine. My retirement hobby is restoring Brit. bites and I have three BSA's, just now finishing a '62 civilian B40. The B40 WD, a 350cc single was considered the postwar replacement for the WDM20. The B40 WD was produced from 1961 to 1970 while the civilian version ended in 1967. This is a shot of mine, almost ready to see daylight after a long sleep.

Really Nice looking tombell572. I have a lot of BSA including 2 C15 project. I'd love to trade them in on a B40 . A B40 was the first single I ever rode and I loved it. The military one really looks the part.
