Kind of a ho-hum tool to deserve its own thread, especially from a venerated old American maker of blacksmith and farriers tools, saws, and files, and the famous Masterenches, but believe it or not, we don't have a catch-all type Heller Brothers thread on the vintage board! Plenty of 'look what I found' hammer threads and a few farriers tools threads and of course the Masterrench thread, but no generic Heller Brothers thread.

Anyhoo, I don't expect this to generate much discussion, just didn't know where else to put it for posterity.

I will admit that I had no idea what this was when I picked it up at the flea market this morning (because I was thinking something more sophisticated than a scraper!), but now that did some research and found a vintage ad for it, of course it makes perfect sense, and the "pendulum action" on the scraper blades is kind of ingenious. I picked it up merely because it was Heller Brothers, Newark Heller Brothers at that (as opposed to Newcomerstown, Ohio), and odd looking.
