Here are the ones that I've scrounged over the last few weeks. The JH Williams Vulcans up top are #6, #5, #4, and #2. I have a few more on the way. The JH Williams Drop Forged C Clamps are CC408, CC406, CC404, CC403, and CC402. I have a few more of these in the mail, too. There are a few miscellaneous clamps in the bottom row, including a Cincinnati 556 or 566. I have a match for it in the mail.
I took a wire wheel to some this weekend. The ones with patina cleaned up fine (see the C clamp to the right in the next picture), but the ones that were painted really shined under the paint.
The shiny CC 403 below was blue when I bought it (pictured above). Figured this was painted by the PO but that only makes sense if he painted it as soon as he got it. Don't see how you would get it this clean with a wire brush, and surface is too smooth for sandblasting. Were these painted when new? I also have three that were painted red; one that still needs a wire brushing is pictured to the left.
One of my Vulcan #2's was the same way -- it was red when I bought it. When I wire wheeled the paint off, it was quite shiny. The #2 clamps next to it were wire wheeled as well, but they still have plenty of patina.
