It's a bunch of old junk. really neat old junk but still junk.

The only thing I saw that I liked was the corner brace in his "brace and bit collection. I'm sure you could cherry pick some cool stuff if you combed through it on site.

There appear to be a few items there that are interesting - those old toy trucks and tractors, for example.
Those old plow wrenches aren't worth a ton of money.
If you go to look at it, see if there are ANY markings on that push-button ratchet shown on the right side of the seventh image - there have been a number of questions asked about that model and nobody knows who made them or where.

Frank "The Bundle Master" Fritz would pick a few items out of that pile. I personally like the John Deere tractor and metal toys. Remember, there's an *** for every seat. Someone wants that stuff.

Looks like an old serial killer's workshop. Only thing missing is the jars with body parts.

Exactly.

Even if you do not collect vintage tools (I do not), there could be some usable tools there. A brace with a drill type chuck could be used for a countersink bit...

Also, there could be other interesting things there. I am always looking for vintage storage solutions.

If you have the time, go look.

It says there's blacksmithing tools. Those would be useful if you want to build a blacksmithing station. Might be fun.

If you have time to kill, call the seller and try to find some gems. Ofter I see guys at auctions that'll buy ANYTHING as long as it's cheap. Some run flea market stands and others just fill their garages for a weekly garage sale.
It's also fun just to stand around and shoot the s#^t with them.

That's the kind of place I like digging in, but much of what I see could only be sold to a very small group of vintage collectors or antique car guys looking to build a tool kit for a specific vehicle. You'd have to know your stuff, and your customer base, in order to pick the right items to resell. That isn't me.

Still, at the risk of being inappropriately misunderstood, I'd love to get dirty in that guys stuff.

I would look for the vintage things that would still be useful but look cool (storage, clamps, crates, ephemera, some tools).

This ad is the terrible proof that no one should hoard tools. He won't sell most of that stuff and it will end up being thrown out when he leaves that place or dies.

I don't see the conflict. He has a steel building or garage and put up a bunch of white pegboard and melamine pressboard shelves to display it instead of throwing it in cardboard boxes or big piles in the corner.

The ad has been up for a month, I wonder how much he's sold. Or how many offers he's refused.

Everyone has different eyes.
What do you see?

I see a bunch of junk, I'd be looking for things to sell...and as it was pointed out, one needs to know the market for that kind of stuff. I don't, still... might be worth a trip :dunno:

I see mostly junk. I'd give $150 for all I could get into a 5 gallon bucket to cherry pick it. Beyond that, I'd be hard pressed to give $250 if I had to take it all.

Lately, I've been taking to throwing much better stuff than that into the metal recycle!

some good stuff in there. mostly cutting tools. with refurb a bunch of the scissors and box cutters would be pretty decent.

some of the people hating on this guy's collection of tools must be drinking serious haterade. lighten up?

down with the trolls, i say.
