I have been looking for some time for an big old American made air compressor and found one. talk about cool factor.:bounce:

My step grandfather worked at US Air Compressor and my step dad worked there summers when he was in high school in the 1930's. I still have the compressor dad built for himself while he worked there.

That's very cool about your step grandfather and step dad how long ago was it when they worked there ? I am guessing this one I have was made around the 30s or 40s. and would love to see a pic of yours.

My step dad worked there in 1934 & 1935 during high school summer vacation, grandpa retired in the early 50's with about 25 years service
The compressor dad made has rolled 1/4" welded plate tank. 1/2 hp motor. About all it's good for is blowing dust around and filling low tires. But I can't bring myself to get rid of it.
The old US Air Compressor factory building is now a Blue Coral plant or warehouse.
