C-Man 12 Piece Full Polish Deep Offset Wrench Set

I am thinking of ordering the Craftsman "Professional 12 Piece Standard and Metric 12 Point Full Polish Deep Offset Box End Wrench Set" (that's a mouthful).
I wanted to know if it's made in the USA, but it's available online only, and the item description doesn't mention the COO.
When I called Sears to find out, the Sears rep told me that it was made in the USA. I asked him where he had gotten this information from and he told me that he had "Googled" it!
I politely told him I thought that this sounded strange and I asked him where Google had gotten their information from. He said he would make a call to Product Support and after talking to someone there, he told me that they had said that the set was made in the USA as well.
Has anyone bought, or know of anyone who bought, this set recently? I would hate to buy the set and then wind up with with an offshore version, even if they were well made.

I bought those a few years ago and they were USA. Can't say for sure if that has changed. Even if it has changed, they may still be sending out the old stock as I suspect this online only item is a slow mover.

You may be able to find some US in your area but it looks like all the pro style wrenches are headed to China.

So it just depends if Sears.com is shipping the old stock or the new stock. They may still have the old stock of this SKU.

So far, the Abilene TX store where I shop has USA Craftsman.

The problem is that both the USA and China ones have the same part number. So it doesn't matter much what the online description says, it's still a **** shoot as to whether you'll get USA or China.

The 12 piece set is online only. I ordered 2 sets about a month ago and they're made in the USA.

Stores carry the individual 5 piece sets, SAE or metric. If you buy the two 5 piece sets, it costs you the same as the 12 piece set (~$80) but you don't get the 2 largest metric sizes.

My experience aligns with Theloniousmonk. Everything that says "Craftsman Professional" has been US made. Most sets advertised as "full polish" are changing COO, as well as other series like the Craftsman Cross-Force. There are some sets, however, that are advertised as "full polish" and are actually Craftsman Professional, like the 18 piece and 10 piece wrench sets. Clear as mud?

I ordered the CM pro deep offset 12pc set last spring. The set had a double of one size and missing a size. Had to go through a little run around (three separate phone episodes) getting that corrected. Last phone call went to a separate sears tool division and the lady was nice about the matter and said the right size wrench was being sent straight from Apex tool factory.
Nice wrenches (imo) & usa made

I am thrilled to report that my set is still made in the USA. I ordered them January 1st, and received them today, January 7th. The set was loose bagged, and didn't come in a rack. But that's a pretty small drawback when you consider that it was cheaper than the separate metric/SAE sets, and included the two larger metric wrenches.

EDIT: Now this is just too much. Sears is now offering "Craftsman 10 pc. Full Polish Deep Offset Wrench Set" (part no. 87641) in addition to the set that is being discussed in this thread. Since they're labeled "Full Polish" instead of "Professional", one can only assume that these are no longer domestically produced. The real insult? Not only has the price remained the same ($79.99), but they no longer include the two largest metric wrenches.

Got my wrenches today and am happy to report that they are made in USA.... Yippee!
I got a scare last night, after checking on my order status. UPS claimed that they delivered to me earlier last night, when, in fact, they had not. It took forever to get hold of someone from UPS, and then I had to call Sears. They said an investigation could take as long as eight business days.
Happy ending was when a neighbor, from around the corner, stopped by this morning with the package.
The wrenches look great and can't wait to use them.
In the meantime, I'll be busy bagging all the foam peanuts that came in this oversized carton that Sears packed the wrench set box in.

I went with the 2 separate 5 piece sets for the very reason that I saw several Made in China sets in the stores, but there were still several Made in USA sets mixed in. I waited for a 10% off sale and then added a couple of online coupons. I then call the store, and asked one of the tool guys to pull the Made in USA sets I had seen the day before, they were in the back which made me think that the new sets were all the Made in China sets. He said no problem, and sure enough I got the 2 Made in USA sets. Sure I am missing the two largest sizes but I only paid ~$66 for both sets. I have tried looking for the two largest sizes in the stores, but they don't seem to carry them. I haven't needed them yet, the two largest sizes that is, but I'd order them just to have them in case I did, but I am afraid I'd get the Made in China ones.

I didn't manage any discount, so the set was $79, and with tax and shipping, it came out to about $92.00.
If any one was interested to know, there was a sheet of paper packed inside the poly bag the wrenches were in: it ran down the list of wrenches in the set, along with some generic Craftsman warranty information and at the bottom of the page, it had a form number with what appeared to be a 3/10 date code.
On the side of the page, there was what appeared to be another date code that looked like 12/10/10. When I saw that, I had hoped that as of that date, they were still making these wrenches here in the US.
I didn't have time to scan it and attach.
If anyone is really interested, the poly bag of wrenches was packed inside a sturdy interlocking corrugated carton from North Carolina. The shipping box was a cheaper corrugated container marked only "Tape 27".

I purchased the 12PC set and mine are all forged in USA. I also supplemented the original 7PC metric wrenches with 3 from Harry Epstein. Craftsman includes 10MM-23MM. I bought 6x7MM Bonney, 8x9MM Bonney, and 24x26MM Facom from HE at great prices. I now have a full 10PC set of 6MM-26MM deep offset 12PT wrenches and I'm happy.

That's good news they are made in USA. I've been wanting a set of those and looked at a couple local stores but all they sale is the five piece SAE and metric sets and I believe they were imported, plus more expensive than the online 12pc. if bought together.

Yes will do, they are listed as professional vs full polish for the 10pc...so I will report back when they arrive.

I've cleaned out several local Sears stores of their stock of Professional hand tools. They always get restocked with the full polish China ****. And by full stock, I mean the 1 remaining metric or SAE set on the shelf. I'm happy to say that I have a complete set of the long beam combos, shorty combos, and the offsets.

I just ordered (today) the 13x17, 18x19, 22x24, & 30x32 Facoms from Epsteins for what I think is a very reasonable price. Whats your take on the Facoms? I know it's prolly not an apples to apples compare but since you have Craftsman as well how do they compare as far as in hand/feel?

Well, i haven't used it yet, but it seems really nice. While it's not polished chrome, I like the finish and it's very smooth. You'll be happy

Yea, these Craftsman offsets are an incredible value. They could be stamped Snap-On and sell for 4X the cost.
